Custom Milling & Consulting, Inc. manufactures a line of horizontal grinding mills called the Supermill Plus. Our knowledge and expertise combined, have produced a piece of equipment that is able to grind wet materials particles down to sub-micron levels.
How does the Supermill Plus operate?
There is a horizontal chamber contains an inner shaft with fluidizer discs and spacers on it. The chamber is filled with 60 to 90 percent media through a port that is located on the top. Liquid material is fed into the input valve of the horizontal chamber and passes through the media and fluidizer discs as the media moves around the chamber it is shearing down the particles in the liquid. By pressure from impact or close tolerance spaces being applied to the particles or agglomerates it forces them to break and disperse. It can take up to several passes through the mill to achieve the desired results. CMC horizontal grinding mills can be customized based on the needs of our customers and the materials they are processing. We can equip the machine with parts that are made from nylon, urethane, silicon carbide, or D2 steel. The discs, spacers, and the inner shell of the chamber can be made from all the different materials.
